At Sweetwater Lake, CPW’s published wildlife recommendations and the DEIS Proposed Action are not the same plan.

CPW Wildlife recommended

Protect the resource first.

Raptors. Apply CPW’s 2020 buffers and seasonal restrictions; the Sweetwater Plan identifies raptor protections as High priority.
North of County Road 150. Move the administrative area off the north bench, use another campground location, and eliminate north-side trail segments.
Elk & mule deer. Initiate and enforce a December 1–June 15 closure where facilities or trails are nearby.

CPW Parks’ DEIS plan

Raptors. A 400-yard lake measure from February 1–August 15, rather than the Plan-cited 880-yard Peregrine Falcon protection from March 15–July 31.
North of County Road 150. A 9-acre Administrative Zone, 24-acre Campground Zone, 14-acre Equestrian Zone, and new road through the north-side pastures.
Elk & mule deer. Year-round administration; Keep Ditch Trail closed only December 1–April 15.
